ADCC 2024 Preview: Javier Zaruski's Jiu-Jitsu Journey From Uruguay to World Champion
Javier Zaruski is an IBJJF Black Belt World Champion (2023) in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (No-Gi). This episode is a special preview for the ADCC 2024 World Championship in Las Vegas this August, which Javier is competing in. In this conversation, we discuss Javier’s life, family, and sports background growing up in Uruguay, his Jewish faith and what has motivated him throughout his journey, and moving to the United States to pursue Jiu-Jitsu on the world stage. We also talk about his competition highlights and experience (inc. IBJJF World Championships, Who’s Number One Championship, and ADCC 2024), mindset lessons around preparing for competition, ideal next opponents, and his entrepreneurial pursuits.
